A Treatise on Starting Seeds

Long dark days have passed, shadows pulled into light.

As she sorts through packets, latin and common names

traipse across her lips, whispers of better times to come.

She’s been here before, the place of new

Beginnings and second chances not taken for granted

though she’s not one to make a fuss.

–

Fingers dibbing into dark grains of earthly matter

there are possibilities here, creativity unbound.

The riot of summer colour will be her

opus, her light cast into dark places

others fear to tread.

–

Such bravery and hope that is here!

Many try and fail and try again, but all

are successful, for the attempt always

was key. Water, light and soil fail

without patience. Hope hovers expectantly.

Shine forth and grow.
